BEHIND THE COLLABORATION / WITH SHAPER MIKE ESTRADA
Born and raised in Newport Beach, California, Mike Estrada began riding waves at the age of five. His teenage years were marked by competitive surfing alongside his brothers, fostering a deep connection to the ocean and surf culture..
Mike officially started shaping surfboards in 1989, initially crafting boards for himself and his brothers. His reputation for quality quickly grew, leading to the establishment of Estrada Surfboards in 1990, based in Costa Mesa, California.
A staunch advocate for traditional twin fin setups, Mike believes that twin fins should be ridden as intended—without a trailer fin. His designs emphasize speed, maneuverability, and the unique feel that twin fins offer, staying true to their original spirit.
